Liberty Middle School 8th Grade students head to the holocaust museum to enhance their educational prowess in Social Studies and have a more informed view of the Holocaust and what the Jewish people had to endure during the Nazi’s reign of terror from 1933-1945.
Loren Bush was excited to see all the interesting and amazing artifacts and texts in the museum. During the trip, Loren noticed there were several highly significant artifacts from the Holocaust Museum. For example, the museum showed what clothes the Jewish prisoners wore during their time in the concentration camps. Loren saw and learned about the diverse types of propaganda that the Nazis used the manipulate or control the German population.
This field trip showed how terrible the Nazi’s concentrations camps were and showed how the Jews were treated even before being sent to various labor and death camps. The museum presented to students that Jews were stripped of citizenship, rights, and were forced to wear a yellow star of David to identify that they were Jewish. They even had their businesses and jobs replaced by “Aryan” people. The museum seems to really have boosted and accelerated Liberty students’ education on WW2 and the Holocaust.
