Gaga ball is a fast paced, high-energy sport played in an octagonal pit. The more players the better.
The Gaga Ball Pit at Liberty was created by the House of Onraka. Onraka’s school improvement den raised money to build the Gaga Ball Pit. Lucas Rigoni came up with the idea of it, and estimated how much it would cost and then built the pit. The house of Onraka purchased the metal corners from an online company, and with the help of the district, they purchased the wood and made the concrete slab for the bottom.
When the idea was first announced to when it was finished, the pit took about 9 months to build. Some of the people that helped with the project were the students that came up with the idea, Dr. Duncan, Mr. Gibson, the school grounds director and some of the workers.
“I am very proud of the Onraka school and improvement committee and all that they accomplished,” Mr. Gibson said.
