Myles Butler chose his number because, “My brother played basketball; he was a big role model for me, and my jersey number is 3 because it is my brother’s favorite number.’’
So far in the 24-25 season, eighth grade boys’ basketball record is 9-1. The seventh-grade boys’ basketball record is 5-6. Some of the star players on these teams are Matthew Wilson, J’Mare Montgomery, Devon Coates, Dayton Coates, Eli Noascono, Liam Jennings. Liberty Boys basketball’s biggest rivals are Lincoln, Highland, East St. Louis, and Mascoutah.
Every single athlete tries to get better. To get where they want to be at this point in basketball some players got help from friends or coaches. Elijah Cole said, “My friend Aaron helped me by taking me to the YMCA to practice.’’
