Olipop has been blowing up on TikTok due to the soda being marketed as “healthy,” but is this true, and does it even taste good? Yes, Olipop has been proven to be healthier than a regular soda by many doctors. Olipop sodas are high in fiber and have lower sugar compared to other non-diet sodas, with only 2-5g of sugar and 35 calories. Compared to Dr. Pepper, which has 40g of sugar and 150 calories, it is a drastic difference. Olipop also has lots of prebiotics in it, which are incredibly good for you.
The important question though is do the sodas taste good? In my opinion, some of them do. I think some of them taste great, not like traditional sodas, but they taste good in their own way. While some of the flavors are good, the dark sodas do not taste anywhere close to the typical canned sodas. Another difference is the price. Olipops are $2.79, while Dr. Pepper is $0.83 in a 12-pack.
Olipop flavor rating
Grape: 10/10, my favorite flavor, and it tastes just like Welch’s sparkling grape juice.
Crisp apple: 9/10, tastes like sparkling apple cider, just sweeter.
Root beer: 7/10, tastes like every old-fashioned root beer I have had, just not as sweet.
Cherry cola: 7/10, tastes good but has a unique cola flavor that is not everyone’s forte.
Orange squeeze: 5/10, does not taste like Fanta, which is what I was expecting. The soda is more like sparkling orange juice and has a slight bitterness to it. I would recommend this to someone who likes orange juice, though.
Vintage cola: 3.5/10, it does not taste like any cola I have had before and has a very odd, unique taste. It tasted especially bad at first, but then you get used to it. If you do not like bitter soda, I would suggest the cherry cola instead, which is a tad sweeter.
