Liberty has a new house council this year.
House council does things such as bring ideas from their house, planning events, picking den leader, and working hard to bring us the best house system experience.
All members went to a leadership conference over the summer to prepare for their new position.
“After the camp I really know how to be a better leader,” said Maia Sweezey-Errar.
Picking den leaders is another one of the house council’s jobs.
“Picking the right den leader is someone who is showing spirit and being respectful,” said Vivian Schroeder.
There is also a new house coordinator. The house coordinator who works a lot with the house council is Mrs. Julie Rusk. Her overall school year has changed a lot since becoming house coordinator she says.
“I don’t teach an elective, so I can use that time to plan events,” Mrs. Rusk said.
She has weekly lunch meetings with the house council to discuss ideas about upcoming events.
House council is also able to give students a chance to express themselves more than they normally would.
“I think it gives the students a chance to give ideas without talking to staff,” said Lucy Brockmeier.
The house council has a lot of fun things planned for the students of Liberty. And they are putting in work to make Liberty a family.
